An electrician is suing over claims he fell off a ladder after it collapsed while working on a job in Arlington Heights.

Harry Soumakis filed suit June 3 in Cook County Circuit Court against Wolffhagger Inc. and Wolffhagger Properties Inc.

According to the complaint, the defendants were managing a construction site at 1504 N. Highland Ave. in Arlington Heights on Feb. 6, when Soumakis was working at the site as an electrician and fell through a hole in the floor when the ladder he was on collapsed.

Soumakis claims he sustained severe and permanent injuries and accuses the defendants of failing to properly inspect the premises, improperly maintaining the premises, not safely erecting the ladder he fell from and failing to provide a safe place to work.

He is seeking damages in excess of $50,000 and is represented by attorney Daniel H. Streckert of Goldberg Weisman Cairo.
