A man is suing over claims he was injured by steel crowd control barriers on a sidewalk in Chicago.

James Pockross filed a lawsuit July 1 in the Cook County Circuit Court against the City of Chicago and Tamis Corporation, alleging negligence.

Pockross claims he was walking on a sidewalk on East Roosevelt Road on Oct. 6, when his foot caught a steel crowd control barrier, causing him to fall and sustain disfiguring injuries to his face.

The steel barriers were bought or leased from Tamis Corporation, according to the suit that accuses both defendants of failing to properly interlock the barriers and place them out of the pedestrian walkway.

Pockross is seeking damages and is being represented in the case by attorneys Scott H. Rudin and Lauren Levin of Miroballi, Durkin & Rudin LLC in Chicago.
