A woman is suing over claims she was injured after a flower planter fell on her hand in a restaurant's sidewalk dining area.

Kiersten DeBrower filed a lawsuit July 8 in the Cook County Circuit Court against The Hubbard House Restaurant LLC, doing business as Hubbard Inn, alleging premises liability.

According to the suit, DeBrower was in the sidewalk dining area of Hubbard Inn on West Hubbard Street in Chicago on April 28, 2013, when her hand was caught by a large flower planter that fell and pulling her with it before landed on top of her hand.

She accuses the defendant of failing to provide a safe premises with enough room for customers to avoid contact with the planter.

DeBrower is seeking more than $50,000 in damages and is being represented in the case by attorneys at Dudley & Lake LLC in Chicago.
