A woman is suing over claims she was injured in a hotel shower when the lights went out.

Gloria Marble filed a premises liability lawsuit July 15 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Southland Development LLC, doing business as Southland Development & Tinley Park LLC, Wingate by Wyndham Tinley Park and Wingate Inns International Inc., doing business as Wingate by Wyndham Tinley Park.

According to the complaint, Marble was staying at Wingate by Wyndham on North Creek Drive in Tinley Park on Oct. 23, 2012, when the lights went out while she was showering, causing her to slip, fall and sustain injuries.

She accuses the defendants of being negligent in the maintenance of the hotel rooms, including failing to provide non-slip bath mats or backup lighting.

Marble is seeking more than $50,000 in damages and is being represented in the case by attorney Jeffrey Deutschman of Deutschman & Associates P.C. in Chicago.
