A Cook County woman is suing her insurance company, alleging it breached their contract by denying her fire damage claim.
Candice Sankarsingh, now known as Candice Hebert, filed a lawsuit July 15 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Allstate Indemnity Co.
According to the complaint, Herbert's insured property on East 136th Street in Chicago suffered fire damage in January 2008, but Allstate has denied her claim.
She is seeking more than $50,000 in damages and is being represented in the case by attorney Conrad Szewczyk.
