The family of a man who died is suing his doctors, claiming they failed to timely diagnose his colon cancer.

Goldie Kagan, individually and as personal representative of the Estate of Lawrence Kagan, filed a wrongful death lawsuit July 30 in the Cook County Circuit Court against The Glen Endoscopy Center LLC, Glen Endoscopy Center LLC and Drs. Jan H. Faibisoff and Jack Morgan.

According to the complaint, Lawrence underwent a colonoscopy by Faibisoff on Jan. 14, 2005 with results showing no abnormalities, but a CT at Glenbrook Hospital in August of 2012 led to the discovery of a malignant tumor.

Kagan asserts Lawrence died on Oct. 7, 2012. She accuses the defendants of failing to repeat the colonoscopy every two years for the timely discovery of colon cancer.

Kagan is seeking damages and is being represented in the case by attorney Francis P. Morrissey of Burke, Wise, Morrissey & Kaveny in Chicago.
