A Cook County woman is suing over claims she was injured when she tripped over a Comcast cable that was supposed to be underground.

Carol Isaacson filed a lawsuit Aug. 11 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Comcast Corp. and James D. Butt.

According to the complaint, Comcast owned an easement authorizing an underground cable to run from a utility pole on Isaacson's property to Butt's house next door. Isaacson claims on Sept. 6, 2012, Butt called Comcast to repair a problem with the cable, which Comcast did, but then left the cable above ground.

She contends demands were made for the cable be placed underground, but Comcast failed to do so, and Isaacson tripped on the cable in her yard, injuring her knee. She accuses Comcast of negligence, and Butt of premises liability.

Isaacson is seeking more than $250,000 in damages and is being represented in the case by Antioch attorney Robert T. Edens.
