An employee of Rivers Casino is suing over claims she was injured while working as the result of a maintenance company's negligence.

Michalina Tac filed a lawsuit Aug. 29 in Cook County Circuit Court against Chicago-based United Maintenance Company Inc.

According to the complaint, Tac was an employee of Rivers Casino on South River Road in Des Plaines on Sept. 2, 2013, when she fell into an uncovered drain in the coffee area and sustained injuries.

Tac alleges United Maintenance Company was in charge of maintenance of the casino, and that one of its employees had removed the drain cover, but failed to replace it.

Tac is seeking more than $50,000 in damages and is represented by Chicago attorney Marilyn I. Kosin of Kosin Law Office.

The case number is Cook County Circuit Court case 2014L009033.
