Schiller DuCanto & Fleck sues former client for $95K it says she owes

A Chicago law firm is suing a former client accused of failing to pay for its services.

Schiller, DuCanto & Fleck filed a lawsuit Sept. 2 in Cook County Circuit Court against Betsy D'Attomo, alleging breach of contract.

According to the complaint, D'Attomo entered into an agreement in September 2008 for the firm to represent her in divorce proceedings. The law firm claims it obtained a $115,000 judgment in D'Attomo's favor from her ex-husband, but that D'Attomo apparently hasn't been able to colllect the judgment from her ex and has not paid the firm.

The plaintiff is seeking the more than $95,700 it contends it isowed, plus interest and court costs, and is represented by Chicago attorney Ira N. Helfgot.

The case number is Cook County Circuit Court case 2014L009151.
