Shopper files suit over slip on transparent hanger

A woman is suing over claims she was injured when she slipped on a hanger left on the floor of a Chicago store.

Eliese Fisher filed a premises liability lawsuit Aug. 29 in Cook County Circuit Court against Marshalls of Illinois LLC and the TJX Companies Inc.

According to the complaint, Fisher was at the defendants' retail store on South Canal Street in Chicago on Sept. 2, 2012, when she slipped on a transparent hanger in the middle of an aisle and sustained injuries. The defendants are accused of being negligent by allowing the danger to exist in their store and not warning customers.

Fisher is seeking damages, plus costs, and is represented by attorney Brian Spencer of Spencer Law Offices in Chicago.

The case number is Cook County Circuit Court case 2014L009046.
