A man is suing over claims he was injured by a bouncer at a River North nightclub and falsely arrested.

Terrace Flowers filed a lawsuit Aug. 28 in Cook County Circuit Court against G.T. Development Group Inc., 343 W. Erie Partnership, Erie Street Investors, Board Room Inc., Mark A. McKinley and Karl Spektor.

According to the complaint, Flowers was in the line to enter the defendants' nightclub, Board Room Chicago, on Nov. 17, 2013, when McKinley, the club's employee who was managing the line, punched him.

Flowers claims McKinley then took a watch and jewelry from him and filed a false police report of battery against him, causing him to be arrested and spend a night in jail.

The suit includes counts for battery, negligence and negligent hiring against G.T. Development, 343 W. Erie Partnership, Erie Street Investors and Spektor, who ran the nightclub. The owners of the Board Room Chicago and McKinley are accused of conversion, intentional affliction of mental distress and false arrest.

Flowers is seeking more than $50,000 in damages and is represented by attorney Charles E. Webster of Brustin & Lundblad in Chicago.
