Shopper blames Walgreens for falling into display

A woman is suing over claims she fell into a display at a Chicago Walgreens as a result of the store's negligence.

Victoria Lopez filed a premises liability lawsuit Sept. 24 in Cook County Circuit Court against Walgreen Co.

According to the complaint, Lopez was at the Walgreens on West 59th Street on Dec. 3, 2012, when she tripped on a basket rack set in an aisle and fell into a merchandise display rack, sustaining injuries.

Walgreens is accused of being negligent in failing to maintain the premises in a safe condition for customers.

Lopez is seeking more than $50,000 in damages and is represented by attorney William J. Sneckenberg of Sneckenberg, Thompson & Brody in Chicago.
