A man is suing over claims he was injured while working as a conductor for Metra.
Sean R. Crowley filed a lawsuit Sept. 22 in Cook County Circuit Court against Northeast Illinois Regional Commuter Railroad Corp., doing business as Metra, alleging violations of the Federal Employers' Liability Act.
According to the complaint, Crowley was employed as a conductor for Metra and was working in the 51st Street Yard in Chicago on July 20, 2012, when he attempted to operate the south fuel rack switch and it jammed, causing him to sustain injuries to his back.
Metra is accused of negligence in failing to provide Crowley with a safe place to work.
Crowley is represented by attorney Craig W. Church of Hoey & Farina in Chicago.
