A  woman is suing the owners of a suburban Cook County mall and others over claims she was injured after slipping on a tarp that was partially covering an Avon kiosk.

Josedith Santiago filed a lawsuit Sept. 29 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Chicago Ridge Mall, CBL & Associates Properties Inc., Cosmic Concepts Ltd., doing business as Media Star Promotions, and Avon Products Inc.

According to the complaint, Avon operated a kiosk at Chicago Ridge Mall through Media Star, the liaison for mall owner CBL. Santiago alleges that on Feb. 8, 2013, an Avon employee covered half the kiosk with a tarp in order to close the business, but half of the tarp was hanging on the ground, causing her to slip on it and fall.

Santiago is being represented in the case by attorney Ryan T. McNulty of Schiff Gorman LLC in Chicago.
