A man is suing a nightclub in Boystown over claims he was assaulted by an employee.
Alexander Cikanek filed suit Jan. 20 in Cook County Circuit Court against Mini Bar Inc., doing business as Minibar, Mini Bar Meat, doing business as mEat Restaurant, and Alex Rodriguez.
According to the complaint, Cikanek was at Minibar nightclub on North Halstead Avenue on Jan. 27 2013, when he was approached by Rodriguez, who he claims placed him in immediate fear and apprehension by physically striking him.
The suit states the Mini Bar defendants failed to intervene in the matter, which resulted in the assault. Cikanek also alleges they hired personnel it knew or should have known possessed violent propensities and failed to properly screen prospective applicants.
