A Streamwood woman is suing a bar that sells margaritas in fish bowls over claims she was attacked by a patron inside the bathroom during her birthday celebration.

Jessica M. Sanchez filed a lawsuit Feb. 4 in Cook County Circuit Court against Adobe Gila's in Rosemont, its owners and/or managers John Votino and Steven Cohee, as well as her alleged attacker whose identity is unknown.

According to the suit, Sanchez was at Adobe Gila's at 5455 Park Place on Feb. 9, 2014, when an unknown assailant made offensive contact with her while she was in the bathroom, violently punching her in the mouth, eyes, face, forehead, head and lips.

She claims the defendants failed to protect her from the assault and remove the attacker from the premises even though the individual was intoxicated. They also failed to monitor the crowd and the alcohol intake of the alleged assailant, the suit alleges.

Sanchez is represented by attorney Timothy J. Deffet of the Law Office of Timothy J. Deffet in Chicago.
