A general laborer is suing U-Haul over allegations he sustained injuries when a wall he was told to demolish at a Logan Square facility collapsed on him.
Antonyo Jones filed suit Feb. 24 in the Cook County Circuit Court against U-Haul Co. of Illinois Inc., doing business as U-Haul Moving & Storage of Logan Square, and U-Haul International Inc., doing business as U-Haul Moving & Storage of Logan Square.
According tot he complaint, the defendants entered into a contract with The Reserve Network for it to supply general laborers for two weeks to help clean up the 4100 W. Fullerton Ave. location for remodeling.
Jones, as an employee of The Reserve Network, performed general labor clean up on June 28, 2013, when the suit says a supervisor for U-Haul told Jones and the other labors to stop the clean up and to demolish an interior block wall.
While demolishing the wall, Jones asserts he was seriously injured when the wall collapsed on him and a moving scaffold he was working from. He accuses the defendants of failing to supervisor and instruct the laborers on how to demolish a wall and to provide them with the proper equipment.
