Customer's fall during pedicure lands Toe Paradise salon in court

A suburban nail salon is facing a lawsuit from a man who alleges he fell while getting a pedicure and sustained further injuries after employees put a liquid n his wound.

Oliver Hintz filed suit Feb. 23 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Toe Paradise Nail Salon & Spa Ltd.

According to the complaint, Hintz was at the salon for a pedicure on Sept. 13, 2013, when he slipped and sustained an injury. He claims he was further injured when defendant's employees applied a liquid to his wound without permission.

He accuses the salon of being negligent by requesting him to stand on a slippery surface, allowing the slip hazard to exist, failing to warn him of the slippery condition and rendering first aid without first inquiring about his medical conditions or gaining permission.

Hintz is seeking more than $50,000 in damages and is representing by Arlington Heights attorney Richard N. Rosenberg.

This is a report on a civil lawsuit filed in Cook County Circuit Court. The details in this report come from an original complaint filed by a plaintiff. Please note, a complaint represents an accusation by a private individual, not the government. It is not an indication of guilt and represents only one side of the story.
