A Cook County man filed suit against a Chicago business claiming premises negligence in a 2013 slip and fall at its downtown restaurant.

Vivek Dabas brought a lawsuit against Brazzaz LLC on July 2 in Cook County Circuit Court, alleging liability for his purported injuries in the July 2013 incident.

According to the filing, Dabas was a patron at the defendant’s restaurant located at 539 N. Dearborn St. on July 29, 2013. The suit states that the plaintiff slid and fell on a slippery substance located on the surface of the floor in the establishment’s salad bar area.

The suit states that Brazzaz was negligent in failing to maintain the floor in a reasonably safe condition, allowing the substance to remain on the floor, and failing to warn the plaintiff and other patrons of the danger.

Court documents indicate that Dabas sustained pain and suffering, disability, disfigurement, limitation of normal activities, and medical expenses. The complaint states that his injuries were serious and permanent.

The plaintiff seeks damages plus attorneys’ fees and costs. He is represented in the case by Scott Rudin and Danielle Pappas of Miroballi, Durkin & Rudin in Chicago.

Cook County Circuit Court case number 2015L006775.
