Cookcountycourt

A Chicago man is suing the city and park district, alleging injuries suffered after stepping into a hole at a city park.

Anthony Wilson filed a lawsuit July 2 in Cook County Circuit Court against the city of Chicago, the Chicago Park District and Chicago Running and Special Events Management Inc., alleging negligence and carelessness.

According to the complaint, on July 5, 2014, Wilson was at Jackson Park, attending the Chosen Few picnic, when he stepped into a hole and suffered personal and pecuniary injuries.

The suit alleges the defendants allowed the hole to exist and failed to provide a safe place to walk, repair the hole, keep control over the premises, adequately maintain the grounds, make a reasonable inspection of the grounds and warn visitors about the hole.

Wilson seeks damages in excess of $150,000, plus costs--$50,000 from each defendant. He is represented by attorney Jason H. Sherwood of Sherwood Law Group in Chicago.

Cook County Circuit Court case number 2015L006766.
