Brentwood

A Cook County woman is suing over claims of the Nursing Home Act against a certain Riverwoods-based health care and rehabilitation corporation.

Darlene Mroz, as special administrator of the estate of Walter Gould Sr. (deceased), filed a lawsuit Aug. 11 in Cook County Circuit Cook against Brentwood North Healthcare and Rehabilitation Centre Inc., citing negligence.

According to the claim, the Brentwood North Healthcare Center, located at 3705 Deerfield Road in Riverwoods, and its staff, practiced careless judgment while caring for Gould – despite knowing of his condition of limited mobility and history of falling – which caused him to fall the day of July 9, 2014, where he incurred injuries and ultimately passed away from his condition Jan. 3.

Mroz is seeking damages in excess of a dollar amount to satisfy the jurisdictional limitation of this court and such additional amounts as the jury and the court shall deem proper, and additionally, attorney fees and the costs of this suit, the claim states.

She is being represented by George G. Argionis and Peter Vlantis of Argionis and Associates LLC in Chicago.

Cook County Circuit Court case number 2015L008222.
