Woman sues Thai restaurant for serving allegedly contaminated meal

Mamathai

A woman is suing over claims that she became ill from contaminated food she consumed at an Oak Park Thai restaurant.

Natalie Zaldivar filed a lawsuit Aug. 14 in Cook County Circuit Cook against Mama Thai Inc., doing business as Mama Thai Restaurant, citing negligence for a meal she purchased in 2013.

According to the claim, Zaldivar became very ill – and continues to suffer from symptoms today – from a meal she purchased and consumed from the restaurant at 1112 Madison St. in Oak Park, on Aug. 18, 2013.

Zaldivar is seeking damages of more than $50,000 plus costs, and any interest in addition to any further relief the court deems just, for the defendant's negligence to not further inspect its food and products before serving it to customers, which has caused Zaldivar to suffer severe illness and extensive personal injuries and damages, the claim states.

She is being represented by Antonio M. Romanucci and Angela Kurtz of Romanucci and Blandin in Chicago.

Cook County Circuit Court case number 2015L008327.
