A Cook County woman is suing St. Joseph Hospital, alleging mistreatment and wrongful death of a friend.
Tressia Permoda, as independent administrator of the estate of Dorlas Culbertson (deceased), filed a lawsuit Aug. 17, in Cook County Circuit Court against St. Joseph Healthcare Centers and Hospitals, Dr. Maria A. Osipova, Dr. Marc Adajar, and S.T. Surgical Consultants doing business as Precision Surgical Group, alleging negligence.
Acording to the complaint, St. Joseph Healthcare Centers and Hospitals and the aforementioned doctors and healthcare organizations, practiced careless judgment while caring for Dorlas Culbertson on two different occasions–Aug. 29-Sept. 3, 2013, and Sept. 4-8, 2013–when she developed a small bowel obstruction in addition to an existing small bowel obstruction, which ultimately led to her death Sept. 8, 2013.
Permoda seeks damages more than $50,000, plus costs and any other relief this court deems just. She is represented by attorney Ronald Kalish of Steinberg, Goodman and Kalish in Chicago.
