Advocategood

A Cook County patient and her husband are suing doctors and a number of health care centers, alleging she was mistreated by a certain physician.

Sandra Kueltzo, along with Lou Kueltzo, filed a lawsuit Aug. 20, Cook County Circuit against Dr. Neel Patel, Anesthesiologists, Midwest Anesthesiologists, Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital, doing business as Advocate Health and Hospitals Corporation, Dr. John L. Reilly, M & M Orthopedics and DuPage Medical Group, alleging malpractice.

According to the complaint Sandra Kueltzo suffered medical malpractice while in the care of Patel and the aforementioned doctors, hospitals and medical groups when she sustained severe and permanent injury to her arms, including a nerve injury which has led to pain and weakness in her hands. These injuries occurred during a total right knee replacement performed at Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital on Aug. 23, 2013, the suit says.

The lawsuit states the doctors, hospitals and medical groups were negligent in their failure to properly care and secure the plaintiff during her procedure when she sustained injuries.

Sandra Kueltzo seeks more than $50,000 in damages, plus legal costs. She is represented by attorney John Simonetti of Marino & Simonetti in Chicago.

Cook County Circuit Court case number 2015L008536.
