A Cook County woman and her husband are suing a medical practice for alleged negligence after she was cut by an X-ray table.
Ethel and James Marousek filed suit Aug. 3 in Cook County District Court, Law Division, against DuPage Medical Group, also known as M&M Orthopedics Ltd. or M&M Orthopaedics Ltd. Marousek alleges that carelessness on the part of the defendant and its employees led to an injury she suffered during a medical procedure.
According to the complaint, on Aug. 26, 2013, Ethel Marousek was a patient at DuPage Medical Group for imaging and testing related to surgery for a left hip replacement operation. The plaintiff claims that her leg was cut on the sharp edge of the X-ray table when the defendant’s employees attempted to move her from the table to a wheelchair. According to the lawsuit, the plaintiff suffered scarring and disfiguration of her lower left leg from this injury. The plaintiff’s husband, James Marousek, is also suing DuPage Medical Group for his wife’s injuries, claiming loss of consortium.
The Law Office of Andrew S. Cryder LLC, a Chicago firm, is representing the Marouseks in this suit, which seeks damages of more than $50,000 and other costs the court deems necessary.
