Patient sues two Illinois dentists, alleging they extracted wrong tooth

Healthcare

A patient is suing two Illinois dentists, alleging they extracted the wrong tooth from her mouth.

Mollie Gonio filed a complaint Aug. 24 in Cook County Circuit Court against Dr. Eric Osmolinski and Dr. Steve Batzelos, alleging negligence.

On Aug. 24, 2013, the complaint states, the dentists carelessly and negligently extracted a healthy tooth, number 31, from Gonio's mouth, when they should have extracted an infected tooth, number 30.

As a result, the suit says, the plaintiff sustained personal injuries and had to seek other medical treatment, thereby incurring expenses.

Gonio seeks a judgment of more than $50,000, plus costs of the suit. She is represented by attorney Sal Indomenico of Sal Indomenico & Associates in Chicago.

Cook County Circuit Court case number 2015L008646.
