A woman is suing a Glenview hospital and one of its physicians, alleging negligent medical practices that she says resulted in her sustaining a stroke.
Carol Saleh filed a complaint Sept. 25 in Cook County Circuit Court against Northshore University Health System (NUHS), doing business as b/a Glenbrook Hospital, and Dr. Steven Meyers, alleging medical malpractice.
According to the complaint, on March 9, 2014, Saleh was a patient at NUHS-owned Glenbrook Hospital in Glenview, where she was being treated by Meyers.
The suit says the defendants were negligent in failing to timely diagnose and treat hypoglycemia, failing to order lab tests to determine the cause of physical and mental status changes during admission, and failing to timely determine the cause of a stroke in order to treat the underlying cause and prevent further injury.
As a result, the suit says, the plaintiff suffered a stroke that remained untreated for several hours.
Saleh seeks a judgment of more than $50,000, plus costs of suit. She is represented by attorney Martin J. Lucas of O'Connor & Nakos in Chicago.
