A Cook County patient is suing her health care providers, alleging malpractice.

Jane Filip filed a lawsuit Sept. 16 in Cook County Circuit Court against Dr. Scott Glaser, Pain Specialists of Greater Chicago, Dr. Anthony DiGianfilippo, West Suburban Neurosurgical Associates, Adventist Hinsdale Hospital and Adventist Midwest Health, Eleanor Pagulayan, and Ziba Gross.  Boston Scientific Corp. was named as a respondent in discovery.

According to the complaint, Dr. Glaser diagnosed Filip with complex regional pain syndrome and recommended she receive a spinal cord stimulator implant. During the operation by DiGianfilippo on Sept. 17, 2013, the suit says Filip suffered a spinal cord injury that left her with acute paralysis.

The plaintiff alleges the defendants’ negligence caused her injuries, left her disabled and responsible for future medical bills, and reduced her capacity to live a normal life and earn future income.

Filip seeks a jury trial and damages of more than $50,000, plus litigation costs. She is represented by attorney Bradley N. Pollock of Walsh, Nippen, Pollock & Cetina of Wheaton.

Cook County Circuit Court case number 2015-L-009491.
