A doctor is suing another physician, alleging misappropriated funds in a dispute surrounding the finances of their joint medical practice.
Dr. Robert S. Rosen filed a lawsuit Oct. 7 for himself and on behalf of Associates in Surgery (AIS) in Cook County Circuit Court against Dr. Phillip Rosett. AIS, co-owned by Rosen and Rosett, was named as a nominal defendant.
According to the complaint, Rosett misappropriated funds from AIS for his personal use and either destroyed, falsified or failed to keep adequate records of the transactions. The amount in question is more than $50,000, the suit says.
Rosen seeks an injunction to prevent Rosett from withdrawing funds from the practice’s accounts or taking any actions on behalf of the business, plus monetary damages in an amount to be determined at trial. He is represented by attorneys Gary D. Ashman and John B. Wolf of Ashman & Stein in Chicago.
