An Atlanta concert promoter is suing a Chicago-based rapper, alleging breach of contract for skipping a show.

The Booking Collective filed a lawsuit Aug. 31 in Cook County Circuit Court against Keith Cozart (also known as Chief Keef), who conducts business in Chicago, and his booking agent, Yung Fly Entertainment.

According to the complaint, Cozart failed to appear and perform at an April 25 concert at the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity house at Auburn University in Alabama. The suit says The Booking Collective paid Cozart $12,000 up front, a price agreed upon in a March 12 contract between both parties.

His absence, the plaintiffs allege, has caused the fraternity to sue them for $70,000, costing additional sums for defense.

The Booking Collective seeks damages of more than $75,000 to cover the down payment, an additional $5,365.37 in preparatory expenses, and compensation for litigation costs and loss of good will. It is represented by attorneys Manotti L. Jenkins and Charles K. Snowden of the Law Offices of Manotti L. Jenkins in Chicago.

Cook County Circuit Court case number 2015-L-008945.
