Daughter sues Jackson Square, alleging negligence in care of late mother

A Cook County woman is suing a Chicago nursing facility, alleging violations of the Illinois Nursing Home Care Act she says harmed her mother.

Rochelle Gibson, independent administrator of the estate of Lillie Gibson, her late mother, filed a lawsuit Nov. 2 in Cook County Circuit Court against Jackson Square Skilled Nursing and Living Center and Jackson Corp.

Lillie Gibson lived at Jackson Square, 5130 W. Jackson Blvd., Chicago, from July 13-Oct. 31, 2013. According to the complaint, Jackson Square’s negligence caused Lillie Gibson to develop pressure sores, resulting in disability, pain and suffering, loss of normal life and medical expenses.

Lillie Gibson died Oct. 31, 2013.

Rochelle Gibson seeks a jury trial and damages of more than $50,000. She is represented by attorney Jeffrey Schlapp of the Schlapp Law Group in Chicago.
