A Cook County woman is suing county health care givers, alleging the doctors and hospital treating her mother for gangrene were negligent, leading to her death.

Amanda Johnson, executor of the estate of Regina Johnson, filed a lawsuit Nov. 17 in Cook County Circuit Court against the county of Cook doing business as Cook County Health and Hospitals System doing business as John H. The plaintiff says the defendants are guilty of malpractice and wrongful death.

Amanda Johnson seeks damages of more than $50,000, plus litigation costs. She is represented by attorney Melanie Grabavoy Conviser of Chicago.
