CHICAGO — A Cook County woman says she slipped and fell on a slippery floor at Mi Dulce Michoacana ice cream parlor in Palatine.

Imelda Rodriguez filed a lawsuit Jan. 26 in Cook County Circuit Court against Mi Dulce Michoacana Inc., La Michoacana and Realty Income Illinois Properties 2 LLC, alleging premises liability.

According to the complaint, Rodriguez slipped and fell on a wet floor while at the defendant’s establishment on Feb. 2, 2014. As a result, the suit claims, Rodriguez suffered permanent internal and external injuries, keeping her from working and requiring her to spend large sums on medical care. Rodriguez claims the defendant neglected its duty to maintain safe premises for customers.

The plaintiff seeks damages in excess of $50,000. She is represented by attorney Adam M. Gilbert of the Sherwood Law Group LLC in Chicago.
