CHICAGO — A Cook County husband and wife are suing the owners of an online forum after someone posted allegedly defamatory statements about the couple on the website.
Nancy Reschke and Michael W. Reschke filed a lawsuit on Feb. 5 in Cook Circuit Court against Dirty World LLC, alleging defamation.
Michael Reschke, founder of The Prime Group, a multi-billion dollar real estate company, and his wife, Nancy, have been married since 2006. At approximately 1:01 p.m. on Dec. 1, 2015, an anonymous person published a post to www.thedirty.com titled "Nancy Reschke Money Hungry," which allegedly has since received dozens of "likes," and additional disparaging and lewd comments regarding the Reschkes.
The suit alleges the post and comments made several false and defamatory statements about the Reschkes, including allegations of lewd sexual and criminal acts, prostitution and adultery.
As a result, the Reschkes allegedly have suffered damages to their personal and professional reputations.
The plaintiffs seek discovery to identify the anonymous author or authors of the posts, damages, and prevention of the continued existence and public display of the defamatory posts. They are represented by attorney Chad Nold of Saper Law Offices in Chicago.
