CHICAGO – A Cook County woman is suing a team of doctors at NCH Medical Group for allegedly mishandling post-operative care for her pancreatic cancer surgery.

Linda and Barry Wasserstrom filed suit Feb. 5 in Cook County Circuit Court against Northwest Community Hospital, Dr. Malcolm M. Bilimoria, Dr. David E. Mahon, Northwest Community Health Services Inc. (doing business as NCH Medical Group), Dr. Daniel Reaven, Dr. Tamer Noureldon, Dr. Glenn Suacillo, CEP America Illinois LLP and a physician’s assistant, alleging medical malpractice.

According to the complaint, Linda Wasserstrom underwent Whipple surgery, a treatment for pancreatic cancer, on April 1, 2014. The suit says the defendants failed to properly follow through on Wasserstrom’s care after the operation, failing to provide her with appropriate antibiotics, assess her risk for infection, and treat her incision, among other careless acts. As a result, Wasserstrom claims she required additional surgery to treat her post-operative infection, incurring additional medical costs.

The Wasserstroms seek damages for pain and suffering, disability and disfigurement, plus medical and litigation costs.

They are represented by attorney Richard F. Lanciloti of the Lanciloti Law Offices in Roselle.
