Cancer patient sues doctors, hospitals

7209

CHICAGO — A woman is suing several health-care providers, claiming that she was told that a 2012 test for cancer was negative, but that cancer was later found to have spread from the same part of her body.

Janet Hamilton is suing Manuel Perez, M.D.; Specialty Physicians of Illinois LLC; Wellgroup Health Partners LLC; Mark vanGorder, M.D.; Mark Fritsch, M.D.; Consultants in Pathology, S.C.; Pathology Consultants Inc.; Professional Clinical Laboratories LLC, doing business as PCL Alverno Arcot Dwarakanathan, M.D.; and Franciscan Alliance Inc., doing business as St. James Hospital and Health Centers, citing alleged negligence.

Hamilton filed a complaint on Feb. 22 in Cook County Circuit Court.

The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible for allegedly coming to an incorrect result from the 2012  test that was performed.

The plaintiff seeks the following: compensation for an amount in excess of $50,000. She is represented by Raymond & Raymond, LTD. of Raymond & Raymond, LTD. in Schaumburg in Illinois.
