Jackson Square Skilled Nursing accused of negligence

1824

CHICAGO — A former resident is suing a Chicago long-term care center, citing alleged negligence that resulted in an injury.

Dennis Austin filed a complaint on Feb. 23 in Cook Circuit Court against Jackson Corp., doing business as Jackson Square Skilled Nursing & Living Center; Nucare Services Corp.; Clinical Consulting Solutions, LLC; and Quest Services Corp. The suit alleges that the plaintiffs knowingly violated the Illinois Nursing Home Care Act by failing to render supervision and extensive assistance in giving care and treatment.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff was a resident of Jackson Square Skilled Nursing between March 13, and Dec. 17, 2014. During this time, he developed multiple pressure sores because the defendant allegedly failed to provide sufficient nursing care and treatment, supervision, and assistance to prevent the injuries.

The plaintiff is seeking compensation in excess of $50,000, plus attorney's fee and other legal costs. He is represented by W. Kent Winingham of Levin & Perconti in Chicago.
