CHICAGO – A power of attorney is accusing several care facilities of failing to properly assess and treat a woman's medical conditions.

Kenneth Gayden, power of attorney for Stella Williams, filed a complaint on Jan. 22 in Cook County Circuit Court against Concord Nursing and Rehabilitation Center LLC, Concord Nursing and Rehab Center, Aperion Care Oak Lawn and Aprion Care Inc., citing violations of the Illinois Nursing Care Act and negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that between April 29, 2011, and March 2, 2015, Williams developed severe and infected pressure ulcers. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because they allegedly failed to provide medical services and nursing care to prevent Williams from developing pressure ulcers and infections.

The plaintiff seeks the following: compensation for an amount of more than $50,000, plus the costs of suit. He is represented by Brian J. Holmes of Hurley McKenna & Mertz PC in Chicago.
