Man claims failure to diagnose heart symptoms

CHICAGO — A man who says he suffered cardiac arrest is suing a hospital and several doctors for alleged negligence.

David Lloyd filed suit on Jan. 20 in Cook County Circuit Court against Loyola University Medical Center, Dr. Hieu Ton-That, Dr. Thomas McKiernan, Dr. Amy Murray, Dr. Michael Mosier, Dr. Deandre Wiliams, Dr. Alain Heroux, Dr. Smit Vasailawa, Dr. Karen Spangle and Dr. Arthur Sanford, claiming the defendants failed to recognize and diagnose Fourniers gangrene in a timely fashion and failed to recognize, diagnose and treat symptoms consistent with pending congestive heart failure, among other allegations.

The plaintiff claims he has suffered a permanent injury and that he suffered a cardiac arrest on April 11, 2014.

The plaintiff seeks compensation for a sum in excess of $50,000 plus the costs of suit. He is represented by Thomas H. Murphy of Cogan & Power, P.C. in Chicago.
