CHICAGO — A doctor and her mother are suing another doctor and a hospital, claiming an improper diagnosis resulted in the plaintiff doctor's license suspension and loss of two medical practices, causing financial losses.

Wan Jun Zhang and Dr. Linda Li are suing Dr. Ashraf M. Helmy, Northwestern University Medical Center and Northwestern Memorial Hospital.

The plaintiffs filed suit on March 3 in Cook County Circuit Court, citing allegations that include violations of standard of care by Helmy and negligence by the hospital.

The plaintiffs claim that a diagnosis of Li as suffering from a"delusional disorder" resulted in the Li's license being suspended.

The plaintiffs seek compensation in excess of $50,000.
