CHICAGO – A couple has filed a suit against a pharmacist and a hospital alleging that they negligently failed to properly monitor the procedures for a certain medication.
Alan Johnson and Christine Johnson filed a complaint on March 11 in the Cook County Court against Michelle Teronde and Advocate Health and Hospital Corp., doing business as Advocate Health Good Shepherd Hospital, citing medical malpractice.
According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that in April 2014, Alan Johnson suffered losses and damages resulting from severe injuries, which included multiple intracranial hemorrhages and neurocognitive dysfunction, as a result of an improper dosage of Coumadin/Warfarin as directed by the defendants. The plaintiff holds Teronde and Advocate Health and Hospital Corp. responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to establish proper Coumadin monitoring and ordered an excessive regimen of the drug.
The plaintiffs seek the following: compensation for an amount in excess of $50,000. They are represented by Fisher & Lamonica PC in Chicago.
