CHICAGO – A resident is suing an Orland Park long-term care facility alleging that it knowingly violated the Illinois Nursing Home Care Act by failing to supervise properly her nursing care and treatment.
Martha Bowman filed a complaint on March 14 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Lexington Health Care Center of Orland Park Inc., citing negligence.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that, since her admittance around March 2013, she has suffered multiple falls that resulted in injuries, including fractures to her right and left hip and wrist. The plaintiff holds Lexington Health Care Center of Orland Park Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to provide adequate assistance and proper supervision to prevent her from falling.
The plaintiff seeks the following: compensation for an amount of more than $50,000, plus attorney's fees and the costs of suit. She is represented by Terrence Davey of the Law Offices of Steven J. Malman & Associates PC in Chicago.
