CHICAGO — An estate administrator is suing health care services and health professionals, alleging their negligence led to injury and death.

Virginia Livorsi, independent administrator for the estate of Janet Lepsi,  filed a suit March 16 in Cook County Circuit Court against Manor Care Health Services Palos Heights East, Manocare Health Services LLC, Heartland Employment Services LLC and registered nurse Karen Harvey, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, between March 26-April 3, 2014, Lepsi's sternal wound became infected. The suit says the defendants failed to assist and supervise the proper care and treatment to prevent infection of the sternal wound.

Lepsi died Nov. 2, 2014.

Livorsi seeks more than $50,000, attorney fees and the costs of suit. She is represented by attorney Zachary R. Greening of Levin & Perconti in Chicago.
