Patient alleges physicians misdiagnosed foot injury

Foot surgery

CHICAGO — A patient is suing a Wheeling podiatry clinic, alleging breach of duty in failing to properly diagnose a foot injury.

Alvin Sterling filed a lawsuit Jan. 13 in Cook County Circuit Court against Donets Foot & Ankle PC, Simon Donets, Yelana Barsky and Global Podiatry of Wheeling, alleging they failed to diagnose the extent and nature of his wounds.

According to the complaint, Sterling sustained severe and extensive injuries to both of his feet. The plaintiff alleges the defendants failed to initiate necessary treatment, failed to prescribe appropriate antibiotics and failed to provide skilled local wound care on a daily basis.

The plaintiff alleges these oversights led to severe and sustained injuries to both his feet.

Sterling seeks more than $50,000, plus legal costs. He is represented by attorney Valerie Harris Adler of Adler & Adler PC in Chicago.
