Husband blames physicians for wife's alleged wrongful death

5801

CHICAGO – A husband is suing two doctors alleging that their negligence caused his wife's death.

John DeJulio, as special administrator of the estate of Sandra DeJulio, filed a complaint on April 4 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Dr. Paul Guske Jr. and Dr. Gaston Carrasco, alleging violation of the Illinois Wrongful Death Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on April 4, 2014, Sandra DeJulio suffered a bowel obstruction resulting in the development of necrotic tissue and sepsis that caused her death April 12, 2014. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because they allegedly failed to properly diagnose and treat his wife's condition and its symptoms in a timely manner.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks an amount of more than $50,000. He is represented by Charles V. Falkenberg III of Karlin, Fleisher & Falkenberg LLC in Chicago.
