CHICAGO — An Cook County man is suing a Japanese company, alleging he is owed more than $200,000. 

Mark Borniak filed a lawsuit April 4 in Cook County Circuit Court against Shoei Co. Ltd., Frystak Associates Inc., Frank Frystak, North Shore Trust and Savings Bank in Waukegan and Joseph Putnick, alleging fraud in making false misrepresentations of how to transfer a payment made by the plaintiff.

According to the complaint, between Sept. 1-9, 2015, Borniak suffered damages of $200,775 when the the defendants made misrepresentations through its agents in acquiring the plaintiff's payment for the property at 2101 W. Rice St., unit 109, Chicago.

Borniak seeks the $200,775 plus interest, punitive damages, all court costs, and any further relief as the court deems appropriate. He is represented by attorneys Steven J. Rotunno and Katelyn Quimby of Miller, Canfield, Paddock and Stone PLC in Chicago.
