CHICAGO — A Cook County woman is suing Harold Washington College, alleging the school made false statements against the plaintiff.
Lisa J. Gillard filed a complaint on May 3, in the Cook County Circuit Court against the Board of Trustees of Community College, District 508. Harold Washington College alleging civil rights violations.
According to the complaint, between January 2015 and April 22, 2016, Gillard, who used the computer facilities at Harold Washington, suffered damages to her reputation as a result of false statements against her. The plaintiff alleges the defendant made false statements in order to defame her.
The plaintiff seeks a trial by jury and damages of $500,900 plus interest.
