CHICAGO — An estate administrator is suing a group of health care providers, alleging their negligence caused the death of her mother.

Gloria Hopkins, independent administrator of the estate of Burnett Spearman, filed a lawsuit May 10 in Cook County Circuit Court against Manor Care of Homewood LLC, Glenshire Nursing and Rehabilitation Centre Ltd., St. James Hospital and Health Centers and Advocate South Suburban Hospital, alleging negligence in failing to to provide proper medical care to Spearman.
