Family blames Chicago nursing care facility for patient's death

CHICAGO — An estate representative is suing a Chicago nursing care facility, alleging negligence led to a patient's death.

Iris Wright, as personal representative of the estate of Odell Towler, filed a lawsuit May 23 in Cook County Circuit Court against Claridge Imperial Ltd., Nucare Services Corporation and Symphony Financial Services LLC, alleging negligence in failing to provide proper assistance to Towler.

According to the complaint, on May 22, 2014, Towler suffered injuries as a result of falling while a resident at the Imperial Grove Pavilion in Chicago and ultimately died July 25, 2014. The plaintiff alleges the defendants failed to provide proper supervision to Towler while she was under their care.

Wright seeks judgment of more than $50,000. She is represented by the law firm of Levin & Perconti in Chicago.
