CHICAGO — A former employee is suing a community college and human resources director, alleging they made false and defamatory statements against the plaintiff.

Jennifer Keating filed a lawsuit May 25 in Cook County Circuit Court against Oakton Community College and human resources director Mum R. Martens, alleging tortious interference.

According to the complaint, in June 2015, Keating suffered damages to her reputation and career because the defendants issued defamatory statements against her and sent it to the college's officers stating Keating falsified CPR rosters.

Keating requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment of at least $500,000, punitive damages of at least $5 million, plus court costs and any further relief the court sees fit. She is represented by attorney David R. Herzog of Herzog & Schwartz PC in Chicago.
